Berlin (dpa / bb) - Five months after the investigation by two special investigators into the series of right-wing extremist attacks in Berlin-Neukölln began, an interim report will be published today, Monday.

He is to be presented in the Interior Committee of the House of Representatives.

The final report should be ready in April.

Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) had commissioned the two special investigators, the former police chief in Eberswalde, Uta Leichsenring, and the former federal prosecutor Herbert Diemer.

At the beginning of October they started their work, supported by several officials from the Senate administrations.

The special investigators should re-investigate the at least 72 crimes committed by right-wing extremists, most notably arson and threats between 2016 and 2018.

You should review the entire investigation and identify possible errors by the police.

Shortly before Christmas, the police arrested two men from the right-wing extremist scene whom they had long suspected because of the crimes.

The investigation is still ongoing.
