Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The primary schools in Brandenburg open again this Monday for alternating lessons between home and school.

Attendance is compulsory when teaching at school.

Education Minister Britta Ernst (SPD) considers the opening to be responsible.

"The children sit at a great distance from each other, we have also introduced the mask for protection," she had told the "Märkische Allgemeine".

It was a "very hard time" for many weeks to keep the schools closed.

Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) had campaigned for teachers and educators to receive a corona vaccination early.

They are currently in the third priority group and will probably not receive a vaccination for a few months.

In a letter to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU), Woidke asked for an examination of the extent to which the vaccination sequence could be adjusted, especially with a view to the Astrazeneca preparation.

The main staff council of teachers in Brandenburg wants to take legal action against the start of alternate teaching.

It warns of bottlenecks for emergency care if the alternating lessons start in addition to the face-to-face lessons for final classes.

In addition, FFP2 or surgical masks would have to be made available to all teachers and students on a daily basis.

The staff representatives are also urging a corona quick test per working day for teachers and students.
