Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The starting problems when assigning vaccination appointments to educators have been solved, according to Health Minister Manne Lucha (Greens).

"Appointments via the hotline and the website are now working, there were start-up problems early in the morning, which have since been resolved," said the Minister of the German Press Agency in Stuttgart.

The opposition had previously accused Lucha of having once again aroused expectations that he could not meet.

The minister emphasized, however, that numerous teachers and daycare workers had already successfully booked appointments on Monday.

“Unfortunately, given the large number of calls, not all of them can get a move on immediately in the first two hours.

I just have to ask for a little patience here. "

All teachers received a vaccination offer, assured the Green politician.

"We keep this promise, even if not everyone got involved this morning."

Lucha had already announced on Saturday that the vaccinations would be brought forward by educators and teachers.

The earlier vaccination is mainly made possible by the fact that there is an abundance of Astrazeneca vaccine.

In Germany, the vaccine is currently only given to people between the ages of 18 and 64 - there is a lack of data on the effect in older people.
