• Catalonia. Businessmen charge against the Government for the riots: "Some hide their hand while others throw stones"

Over the weekend, it was Foment del Treball and some thirty entities and business organizations who blamed those responsible for the Generalitat for "irresponsibility" and this Monday, the Catalan Civil Society announced a claim for patrimonial liability against the Government for the damages caused in last week's riots in Barcelona after protests in support of rapper Hasel y Cs has denounced the Minister of the Interior, Miquel Sàmper, to the Public Prosecutor for "not protecting" the Mossos d'Esquadra against altercations.

Specifically, the Catalan Civil Society announced contacts with economic sectors of the city affected by the vandalism to coordinate a claim for patrimonial liability against the Government.

They consider that there is an inaction of the Catalan administration after a week of riots.

"If one day there are acts of vandalism it is not your responsibility, but if it happens five consecutive days, there is a clear negligence of the political leaders, who have left the police at the feet of the horses," said the president of the entity, Fernando Sánchez Costa.

Societat Civil believes that the riots in the city "harm millions of Catalans who depend on foreign investment, tourism and economic confidence."

For this reason, Sánchez Costa regretted that "Catalonia is hitting rock bottom. We do not deserve a Government obsessed with not displeasing the anti-system. Governing is not running a camp, it is enforcing the democratic law that guarantees economic progress and well-being. How do they want to build a state if they do not know how to respond to or control a state of violence and chaos like the one we are experiencing? "

On the other hand, Cs initiated criminal proceedings against the Generalitat for the disturbances.

The leader of the training in Catalonia, Carlos Carrizosa, together with the president of the municipal group in the Barcelona City Council of Citizens, Luz Guilarte, filed a prosecution complaint against the Minister of the Interior, Miquel Sàmper, for alleged prevarication by not defending the action police in the riots.

Carrizosa regretted the Interior's decision "not to appear in the open proceedings against those responsible for attacking the Mossos and to renounce accusing them of an attack."

In addition, he pointed out that Junts and ERC "are not doing anything against the violent because they seek the support of the CUP to govern" and reproached the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, for looking the other way because the Vice President of the Government, Pablo Iglesias, supports the protests.

In this sense, the spokesperson for Catalunya en Comú in Congress, Joan Mena, condemned the violence in the mobilizations over the imprisonment of Pablo Hasel but assured that his formation will once again propose in Parliament the prohibition of the use of foam in the body of the Mossos d'Esquadra, questioned these days by the CUP after the loss of an eye of a protester, according to her complaint, by a projectile.
