Italian Ambassador Luca Attanasio was killed in an attack on a convoy in the Congo. According to ANSA, the ambassador's car drove as part of the UN Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The attack on the car took place in the city of Goma, after which the diplomat was sent to a hospital, where he died.
