Fürth (dpa) - Holstein Kiel missed the leap to the top of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The team of coach Ole Werner lost on Monday evening in the top game at SpVgg Greuther Fürth with 1: 2 (1: 1) and could not use the mistake of Hamburger SV.

On Saturday, HSV surprisingly lost 3-2 at the bottom of Würzburger Kickers.

In a very entertaining Monday evening game, Joshua Mees gave Kiel an early lead (4th minute).

After that, the guests were negligent with their chances.

Havard Nielsen (27.) managed the flattering equalizer for the hosts with a picture-book header.

A second goal from Nielsen (67th) was not given due to video evidence due to offside.

But then Kiel's Alexander Mühling (83) met his own goal shortly before the end and thus sealed his team's first defeat in the second half.

Fürth improved to second place in the table with the victory.

HSV, Fürth, Bochum and Kiel now all have 42 points in their accounts.
