Schwerin (dpa / mv) - With a new step-by-step plan coming into force, most children in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have been able to go to daycare or day care again since Monday.

The appeal to parents in recent weeks to look after their offspring at home is no longer valid, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

A ministry spokesman was initially unable to say how many children took up the offer on Monday.

According to the step-by-step plan, all children can be brought to day care or day care as long as the incidence value in a region remains below 100.

If it rises above this value in a district or an independent city, the parents are again asked to keep their children at home.

If the value is over 150, as is currently the case in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, there is only emergency care.

With incidences between 50 and 100 - this is currently the case in the districts of Northwest Mecklenburg, Ludwigslust-Parchim, Mecklenburg Lake District and in the city of Schwerin - more precautionary measures are provided in the daycare centers than with a value below 50.

These include, for example, restrictions on singing and sports, contact lists, hourly burst ventilation and a necessary health certificate.
