Berlin (dpa) - With two big wins, the table tennis women from TTC Eastside have taken the lead in the Bundesliga.

One day after the 7: 1 against the detached table leader DJK Kolbermoor, the Berlin women won 8: 0 on Sunday against third party TSV Langstadt.

In both games, the capital city team had renounced their home rights and, in agreement with their opponents, agreed on Frankfurt / Main as the venue.

This saved travel costs and reduced the risk of corona infection.

Eastside presented itself in strong form.

One week after the away win in Kolbermoor, this time the TTC gave Upper Bavaria no chance with 7: 1 (22: 7 sets).

The recently committed German-Chinese “senior citizen” Ding Yaping was used for the first time.

The player, who will be 54 years old in mid-April, promptly won her two singles in the lower pair cross.

In the Sunday duel against TSV Langstadt, which competed without his injured top player and former Berliner Petrissa Solja, Eastside was even more superior at 8-0 (24: 4 sets) and won after just under two hours in the line-up of Xiona Shan, Nina Mittelham, Britt Eerland and Ding Yaping all eight singles.

In the table, the TTC Eastside is now leading with 16: 4 points.
