A source in the Yemeni government delegation told Al-Jazeera correspondent in Amman that the Houthi group's delegation bears full responsibility for the failure of the prisoner exchange talks in the Jordanian capital.

The source added that the talks have already ended, and that both delegations will leave Amman tomorrow morning, but communication between them will continue through the United Nations in order to agree on satisfactory lists for both parties.

And a member of the Yemeni government delegation, Majed Fadayel, said in his tweets on his Twitter page that despite the continuous concessions made by the government delegation and presented by the government delegation, the Houthi militia continues its intransigence, and refuses to remove or exchange journalists, and demands names that do not exist, they may be killed on the battlefronts or They are delusional.

He accused the virtues of the Houthis of complicating the prisoners' file and deliberately thwarting the talks, stressing that the government delegation came to Amman and had the full intention and clear directions from the Yemeni president to release more prisoners.

On October 16, the Yemeni government and the Houthi group completed the exchange of 1061 prisoners, in the largest exchange deal between the two sides since the outbreak of the war between them 6 years ago, under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, as part of the Sweden agreement signed more than two years ago.

The United Nations and several parties seek to support the talks between the two parties to conclude similar agreements.
