Dubai Police provided free treatment for 26 sick cases using oxygen, in the pressure room of the General Administration of Transport and Rescue, located next to the Dubai Health Police Station, last year.

The official of the oxygen therapy room, Major Ismail Hassan Mahmoud, said that the room is considered the first room in the police forces in the Middle East and the only one in Dubai and the Northern Emirates in dealing with diving accidents, and it has successfully treated 26 sick cases, some of which were advanced and reached the point of paralysis. A number of sessions inside the pressure room enable patients to walk again.

Major Ismail Mahmoud explained that the 26 cases of sickness, including eight injuries to diving accidents that affect divers who do not adhere to safety and security procedures, by providing 43 treatment sessions with an average of 51 hours, while the other 18 cases are for other diseases such as complications of diabetes, peripheral neuritis, And strokes and other diseases by 191 sessions, at a rate of 191 hours, while the number of sick cases that have been treated since the beginning of this year reached 10 disease cases, through 86 sessions of 90 hours of treatment, including one case of a diving accident.

For his part, the specialist in diving and oxygen therapy, Dr. Saddam Al-Maamari, said that the method of oxygen therapy in the pressure rooms is suitable for all diseases that cause the lack of oxygen to reach the cells and tissues, and among these diseases are sudden deafness, gangrene, carbon monoxide poisoning, and tinnitus. And diseases caused by radiation therapy, bone diseases, and when exposed to wounds or after unsuccessful skin transplants, artificial organ transplants, or when treating burns, severe anemia, brain abscess, and multiple sclerosis (MS) disease.

He added that the room also deals with the various diving accidents and diving accidents that occur when some divers do not adhere to the global procedures used for diving, by spending long hours under water or fast climbing without adhering to the recommended stops, or deep and frequent diving and exposure to strong currents, as bubbles form Nitrogen is in the diver's bloodstream, and it causes blockages of arteries and blood tissues.
