The Sharjah Environment and Nature Reserves Authority confirmed coordination with the authorities concerned with identifying recreational fishing sites in the emirate, and adding a new recreational fishing site in the city of Sharjah located on Al Mamzar beach, bringing the number to eight sites, noting that some old sites have been changed to organize recreational fishing, prevent random fishing, and meet the demand The increasing number of fishing enthusiasts to find new locations to practice their hobby.

It indicated that some sites have been changed, such as the city of Hamriyah from the old site on the beach of Hamriyah to the new site at the entrance to the Khor Al Hamriya, and in the city of Kalba from the old site on the beach of Suhaila to the left of the fishermen's port, to the new site on Suhaila beach on the right side of the port.

She indicated that the eight areas in which fishing is permitted include the Al Khan area, behind the Aquarium, and Al Mamzar Beach, in two different locations, Al Hirah Beach, Al Hamriya Beach and Suhaila Beach in Kalba, Al Lualaia Beach in Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn Canal.

And she emphasized that there are five conditions that recreational fishing practitioners must adhere to when fishing to avoid violations and financial penalties, which are not to throw fishing waste, or to dispose of it on the beach, and put it in the places designated for that, and not to allow fishing for those who do not hold a recreational fishing license, and fishing. By using the hook and line only, and respecting the rights of others by allowing them to be able to fish, and stopping the provision of service from the beginning of July to the end of August of each year to reduce consumption.

She added that it has set conditions and controls for practicing recreational fishing in the emirate with the aim of preserving the safety of community members and preventing random fishing, noting that the law regulating the practice of recreational fishing hobby came to regulate fishing in public places, and to limit the random behavior of hobbyists that lead to harassment. Passers-by or harming them by leaving fishing debris, especially the hook, which causes wounds to beachgoers.

It indicated that the recreational fishing license is divided into a family and individual license, and it is weekly, monthly or annual.

The fees for recreational fishing permits for a year are 260 dirhams per person, 410 dirhams for a family, and hunting permits for a month are 110 dirhams per person, 160 dirhams for a family, and a one-week permit is 30 dirhams per person, and 50 dirhams for a family consisting of a father, mother and four children.
