Two "criminal" fires have targeted this week in Isère the premises of a company specializing in telecommunications networks, the Grenoble prosecutor's office said on Saturday.

"An arson attack took place last night (from Friday to Saturday) in the premises of the Constructel company in Sassenage which installs optical fiber," said Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant in a press release.

"This fire follows the one which took place in the premises of the same company located in Brézins on the night of Wednesday to Thursday", underlines the magistrate adding that at this stage of the investigation, entrusted to the gendarmerie , "No track is privileged".

In neighboring Drôme this week, the technical rooms of the operator Orange were also set on fire twice.

Numerous arson fires have targeted telephone installations, in particular relay antennas, in France in recent months.

In 2020, the authorities had identified around 100 damage to telephone towers across the country.

Some of these actions have been claimed by the ultra-left.
