Brive showed great realism to sanction a team of Bordeaux-Bègles (25-23) playful but very undisciplined which bowed for the first time in 2021, Saturday on the occasion of the 17th day of the Top 14.

All the series have an end and that of the UBB, which remained in six matches without defeat, ended at the Stadium, pre-darling of Enzo Hervé, effective scorer with his 20 points which largely counted in the victory of the men by Jeremy Davidson.

Six days after losing to Bayonne, the CAB is even back in the race for the top 6, up to Castres and Lyon - which plays in the evening against Toulouse - eight points from Toulon.

The men of Christophe Urios, who had qualified this trip as a "testosterone test", had the ammunition to win in Corrèze.

They scored two tries, the second by Nathanaël Hulleu (73rd) synonymous with a defensive bonus and then hope, but their lack of discipline is costing them dearly.

Too expensive.

In the standings, they cede their 4th place to Clermont but still keeps nine points ahead of 7th, Paris.

With the wind in the back, the CAB first fed in the first period the faults of the UBB, between clumsiness, lack of control especially in the areas of rucks and then deficient scrum (12-3, 31st).

The Girondins, dominating in possession, found the opening on a beautiful combination in touch between Dweba and Lucu, concluded by Higginbotham (34) but a winning ball from Coujoux sending Cecarrelli behind the line maintained a 9-point gap to the break (19-10).

Returning with other intentions on the restart, the visitors came closer to the score (19-16) thanks to two penalties from Lucu, before winning again following three penalties conceded, of which only two were successful by Hervé (25 -16, 61st).

Everything had to be redone but the grip remained Bordeaux until the end, with long sequences of shelling well repulsed by Brivists not releasing anything in defense, until a small kick to follow from Lucu found Hulleu in goal for a defensive bonus in the end deserved.
