Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued today, Saturday, a decree on promoting public freedoms, and the official news agency Wafa stated that the decree affirmed the provision of a climate of public freedoms, provided that it is binding on all parties in the territories of the State of Palestine, including the freedom of political and national action, in accordance with the provisions of the Basic Law and the laws Related.

The decree prohibits prosecution, detention, arrest, arrest and all forms of accountability outside the provisions of the law, for reasons related to freedom of opinion and political affiliation.

The decree that came in 9 articles included a clause on the release of detainees, detainees, detainees, and prisoners on the grounds of opinion or political affiliation, or for all partisan or factional reasons in the territories of the State of Palestine.

The decree also stipulated the provision of complete freedom for electoral advertising in all its traditional and electronic forms, publishing and printing, organizing political and electoral meetings and meetings and financing them in accordance with the provisions of the law, and providing equal opportunities in the official media for all electoral lists without discrimination, in accordance with the law.

He stated that the police, in uniforms and not other security apparatus and formations, would protect the polling stations and the electoral process in the territories of the State of Palestine, and ensure their fair conduct in accordance with the provisions of the law, in addition to providing full support for the Central Elections Committee and its crews to carry out its tasks.

For its part, Hamas demanded today that the presidential decree promoting public freedoms in the Palestinian territories be implemented on the ground in the West Bank.

Commenting on the decree issued by President Abbas, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said that what is required is to implement this decree on the ground in the West Bank and bring it into effect in the coming days.

He pointed out that the factions requested the opening of freedom in the West Bank in order to be able to hold free and fair elections.

It is noteworthy that the issuance of the decree came as part of the consensuses that took place between the Palestinian factions in Cairo at the end of their dialogues on February 8 and 9, in preparation for the upcoming elections.
