Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The volleyball players of SSC Palmberg Schwerin have defended their third place in the table.

In a partly highly dramatic Bundesliga match, coach Felix Koslowski's team prevailed 3-0 (26:24, 29:27, 25:12) against Rote Raben Vilsbiburg, who had been the direct pursuer to date, and increased their lead on fourth place for the time being six points.

In the first round the SSC was almost hopelessly behind with 21:24, but was able to win the round after defending three set balls.

The second round was also only decided in extra time after Schwerin missed a set point at 24:23.

Afterwards, the guests were able to avert the looming loss of a set and finally turn their fourth chance to lead 2-0.

In the third and then decisive round, the SSC dominated the action and was able to use the first match point to win.
