Dortmund (AP) - Shot putter David Storl has won his eighth indoor title at the German athletics championships.

The 30-year-old ex-world champion from Leipzig impressed on Saturday in Dortmund with the personal best for the year of 20.83 meters.

Second at the event under strict hygiene measures and without spectators was Christian Zimmermann (Kirchheim / Bavaria) with 20.09 meters ahead of Storl's club colleague Dennis Lewke (19.70).

Christina Schwanitz (LV 90 Erzgebirge) had previously won the women's shot put for the sixth time at indoor championships.
