Gelsenkirchen (AP) - The fans of Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04 have gathered in front of the stadium after the 0: 4 (0: 2) in the Revier derby against Borussia Dortmund, according to media reports.

The “Funke Mediengruppe” wrote on Twitter on Saturday evening that there had been riots.

Some fans are said to have tried to storm a goal.

They were stopped by the police, it said.

Upon request, the police initially only confirmed that numerous emergency services had been at the stadium around the game.

For the Revierclub, relegation from the Bundesliga is getting closer after the 0: 4 against their arch rivals.

Schalke have only collected nine points after 22 games and are already eight points behind the penultimate Mainz.

Arminia Bielefeld on the relegation place is already nine points away and also has one game less.
