Iserlohn (dpa / lnw) - Burnt food triggered a major fire service in Iserlohn on Saturday.

Two young passers-by had alerted the fire department in the afternoon about smoke development in a building, as the fire department announced.

They also said they heard a smoke alarm on the phone.

The fire brigade found an apartment full of smoke on site and, according to their own statements, saved a person.

"After the emergency medical care, the person refused a ride to a hospital," said the fire department in the evening.

The cause of the smoke was quickly identified: food that had been forgotten.

The Iserlohn fire brigade, which was on site for about 45 minutes with 37 emergency services, ventilated the apartment vigorously.
