Bestensee (AP) - The Berlin Volleys have successfully finished their last away game in the main round of the volleyball Bundesliga.

In the Berlin-Brandenburg derby at the Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee, coach Cedric Enrad's team won 3-1 on Saturday (31:29, 25:22, 21:25, 25:11).

However, the capital club had unexpectedly big problems with the ambitious opponent over long periods.

Outstanding player in the winner was middle blocker Anton Brehme.

A setter was missing from both teams.

The Netzhoppers had to do without Byron Keturakis (back problems) as they had for weeks, the BR Volleys did not have their second setter Pierre Pujol (knee problems) with them.

The first round was exciting.

With a good assumption and the better serves, the Netzhoppers were already close to the lead at 22:17.

But the volleys kept calm, caught up point by point when Sergej Grankin served and benefited from an opponent's line-up error when they equalized at 22:22.

The hosts could not use three set balls afterwards, the fourth set ball of the volleys brought the decision with 31:29.

The Brandenburgers remained an unpleasant opponent for the favorites from the capital.

The team headed by coach Christophe Acht coped well with the lost second round.

In the third set, the Netzhoppers led 16:12 in the second technical time-out and did not give up this lead.

But the hosts could not maintain their level.

Due to a series of serves by the American Benjamin Patch, the Berliners quickly set themselves 10: 3 in the final section.

It was only in this phase that they showed the superiority that had been expected of them from the start.
