In response to US President Joe Biden's appearance at the G7 Summit on the 19th, announcing the return of the US to multilateralism, Europe welcomed the restoration of the'Atlantic Alliance'.

President Biden, leading the G7 meeting and the Munich Security Conference, declared a breakup with the former administration's "American First" on the international stage.

In response, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in a speech at the Munich Security Council that "the United States is completely back as a leader of the free camp." "This is a fantastic move."

“The gloomy is over and we have passed the hurdle,” he said. “The countries we call the West are once again bringing together tremendous capabilities and expertise.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said: "There is a lot to do. Germany is ready to cross the Atlantic to open a new chapter in cooperation between the United States and Europe."

There was also an air current that was opposed to the US's return to multilateralism, but was wary of security, the most sensitive field.

French President Emmanuel Macron pointed out that "if we (Europe) depend too much on the United States within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), we will face a situation where we can no longer protect our borders by ourselves."

"The best way for Europe to intervene more in NATO is for countries to take more responsibility for security," he said. "This is the way to make (NATO) stronger than in the past."

He added, "I believe in NATO," and "Nato needs a more political approach."

On this day, President Biden and other Western leaders sympathized with the need to cope with China's rise and expansion of influence, but showed a temperature difference.

Prime Minister Merkel said, "While China is also a competitor to the regime, it is necessary to solve global problems such as fighting climate change or preserving biodiversity," and focused on'strategic cooperation' with China.

Instead, he stressed the vigilance of Russia, saying, "Because Russia repeatedly tries to destroy the EU's base, the EU must strengthen."
