Israel announced that it had begun work on producing a new generation of the "Hets" anti-ballistic missile defense system, in cooperation with Washington.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Twitter on Thursday that the two parties began work on developing the system, also called "Arrow" or "arrow", in order to produce the next generation, which will be "Spaces 4".

In a statement issued by his office, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that "the production of Spots 4 with American partners will lead to a technical and field leap."

For his part, Ophir Gendelman, a spokesman for the Israeli Prime Minister, wrote on Twitter that the new missile, the Titans 4, "will have unprecedented and qualitative operational capabilities."

"Israel has the ability to intercept all missiles that the enemy possesses," he added.

Obsessed with Iranian missiles

The Israeli Jerusalem Post reported that the new missile will be a key part of the Israeli multi-layered missile defense structure, noting that Hatz is the upper layer of this structure and its goal is to protect Israel from long-range missiles, especially those produced by Iran.

The newspaper believed that the new generation - which is supposed to replace the Hit 2 in the coming decades - is a message to Iran, which continues to develop its long-range ballistic missiles.

The United States is the largest military supporter of Israel, as in 2018 it approved a military aid package for Tel Aviv worth $ 38 billion until 2028.
