Bremen (dpa / lni) - A hairdressing business from Bremerhaven failed before the Higher Administrative Court (OVG) Bremen with the application for immediate reopening.

Closing the hairdressing salons is still an appropriate means of warding off infections with the coronavirus, the judges found on Friday (Az. 1 B 53/21).

In Bremen it has not yet been possible to reduce the infection rate below the mark of 50 infections to 100,000 inhabitants in one week.

The upcoming reopening of the salons from March 1 will not change the current risk assessment, the court said.

The operator of the salon asserted that protection against infections could also be achieved through suitable hygiene concepts.

The closure, which has been in force since December 16, is inappropriate because hairdressing services are important for the common good.

The OVG replied that the hygiene concepts reduced the risk of infection, but did not reduce it to zero.

The decision is final.
