Where will Makhtar Diop stop?

The former vice-president of the World Bank, who successively headed the Africa department for six years, then that of investments, will take care of the IFC, the International Finance Corporation, from March 1.

A branch dedicated to financing the private sector around the world, and whose role is constantly growing.

At sixty years old, Makhtar Diop has become a fixture at the World Bank.

Since 2018, he managed the reactor core of the institution, namely the huge infrastructure projects piloted by the bank.

This financier trained in London and Paris, who was also an economist at the International Monetary Fund, had a brief ministerial episode in Senegal, occupying between 2000 and 2001 the portfolio of Economy and Finance.

We owe him a major reform of the Senegalese Customs and Treasury.

This son of a lawyer, originally from the Louga region, is known to be calm and discreet.

Passionate about martial arts that he practiced in his youth up to university level, he may have pondered this maxim that we owe to the master in the field, Bruce Lee: "

In life, there is no there is no limit, but levels that must be reached, then exceeded

 ”.

Honored to have been appointed CEO of @ IFC_fr.

Determined to help our customers overcome the obstacles related to the # COVID19 pandemic.

By supporting the private sector, we will help improve the living conditions of as many people as possible: https://t.co/Dnx4q8Apjr pic.twitter.com/FQlqHECHtz
