Kim Kardashian West has formally filed for
divorce
from rapper Kanye West after more than six years of marriage in which they became one of the most mediatic couples.
The tabloid TMZ was the first to break the news this Friday, later confirmed by other media such as the Los Angeles Times, which indicates that the star
has

asked for joint custody of their four children together
.
That petition, registered in the
Los Angeles Superior Court
, confirms the rumors that for months had indicated that the couple was studying a formal separation after numerous disagreements.
According to sources close to the family, the divorce will be peaceful, since there is already a prenuptial agreement and there are advanced conversations about a subsequent separation of assets that have the approval of both.
In fact, West has lived since last year in a house located in the state of
Wyoming
and Kardasian resides in the
Los Angeles area
with her children.
