Braunschweig (AP) - Eintracht Braunschweig draws new hope in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga.

After only one win in the previous eleven games, the promoted team won 2-0 (0-0) against Jahn Regensburg on Friday evening and thus improved to the relegation place for the time being.

Jannis Nikolaou (58th) and Nick Proschwitz (65th) scored the two goals for Eintracht within seven minutes and probably saved the job of their coach Daniel Meyer.

The Regensburg team, who had previously been undefeated in five competitive games, missed taking the lead in the first half.

David Otto failed with a header (7th) and an overhead kick (28th) against the strong goalkeeper Jasmin Fejzic.

In the 25th minute, Braunschweig defender Nico Klaß steered the ball to his own post.

After the break, Eintracht earned this important success.
