Schwerin (dpa / mv) - After the end of the winter holidays, a new daycare step-by-step plan will come into force on Monday.

It states that all children can be taken to daycare or childcare, as long as the incidence value in a region remains below 100.

If the number of corona infections rises above 100 per 100,000 inhabitants in a district or an urban district in seven days, parents will be asked, as in the last few weeks, to keep their children at home, as the Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Friday.

If the value exceeds 150, there is only emergency care for children of parents in systemically relevant professions, for children of single parents and if the child's best interests so require.

This is currently the case in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district.

In the case of an incidence between 50 and 100, more precautionary measures are provided in the daycare centers than in the case of an incidence below 50, as it was further said.

This included severe restrictions on singing and exercising, contact lists, hourly burst ventilation and a necessary health certificate.

Parents are then only allowed to enter the facilities in exceptional situations.

"With the Kita step-by-step plan, we have created a comprehensible perspective for parents and children, the institutions responsible for the facilities and their employees, as well as for the municipal level," said Social Minister Stefanie Drese (SPD).

The virus mutants are taken into account with precautions in the event of a diffuse infection with mutation.

"In other words, if more mutations are found, a general ban on visits with emergency care and strict hygiene instructions should quickly be imposed in the affected region in order to prevent the mutation from spreading."
