Ditzingen (dpa / lsw) - The fire brigade evacuated a house on Friday night because of a fire and saved an elderly woman from her balcony with a turntable ladder.
According to the police, the fire broke out in the senior citizen's apartment on the first floor of a residential and commercial building in Ditzingen (Ludwigsburg district) for as yet unknown cause.
The emergency services cleared three floors of the apartment and also brought the elderly woman to safety.
The elderly woman and a 34-year-old neighbor came to the hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
The extinguishing work was completed in around two hours and most people were able to return to the house.
Only the apartment on fire was initially uninhabitable.
According to initial estimates, the damage is between 50,000 and 100,000 euros.
