Berlin (AP) - Sami Khedira is at Hertha BSC before his first starting eleven.

Coach Pal Dardai is considering calling the ex-world champion on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against RB Leipzig in the starting line-up.

"Of course I'm thinking that he might play from the start," said Dardai on Friday in the online press conference of the Berlin Bundesliga club.

So far, the 33-year-old Khedira has only been substituted on twice in the second half since moving from Juventus Turin to Hertha.

Dardai also wants to keep this option open for the new leading player.

"It looks good, it could be that he will play from the beginning, it could be that he will come at halftime," said Dardai.

Dardai vehemently contradicted speculations about a conflict with the Brazilian Matheus Cunha.

«I am very pleased with him.

He's the best player, ”said Dardai of the 21-year-old who moved from RB Leipzig to Hertha a year ago.

Cunha has not scored a goal in almost 900 minutes and is considered a moody character.

Dardai's predecessor Bruno Labbadia had also criticized him publicly.

Despite the threat of falling to 16th place, Dardai sees no reason for "hectic" or "panic".

"If that means relegation in the end, then it's relegation," said the Hungarian about the relegation battle.

The duels against direct competitors are important, he also anticipated a possible defeat against Leipzig.

Hertha has clearly lost all of their four home games since 2017 against Saxony.
