  The European Commission stated in an announcement on the same day that the current humanitarian situation in the Naka region has further deteriorated due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and severe cold weather; in accordance with the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence, the European Union will provide local humanitarian partners to the Naka region.   According to the announcement, this round of EU assistance is mainly targeted at homeless people in and around Nakkah area and residents affected by armed conflict. The assistance materials are mainly food, emergency shelter, winter supplies, daily necessities, etc., and basic health services will also be provided. And psychological assistance.

  The Naka region is located in southwestern Azerbaijan, and most of its residents are Armenians. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan and Armenia have been in a state of hostility for a long time due to the issue of the Naka region’s ownership.   Since the end of November last year, Russia has dispatched several batches of humanitarian aid convoys to the Naka region.
