Poutinebros

They are brothers and had the good idea to open a restaurant dedicated to poutine which is a hit in Rennes.

Installed since 2015 with PoutineBros (the poutine brothers), Camille and Nicolas Gaudin have just made a name for themselves in the world of Quebec recipes that combine fries, melted cheese and sauce.

Dietetics!

But terribly good.

The two brothers, and a third living in Montreal for years, have just won the prize for the best recipe in the “International” category at Poutine Week 2021 organized from February 1 to 7.

We could have told you that their exclusive recipe called Sherbrooke, named after a city in Quebec known for its university, was the best in the world.

But our ethics oblige us to specify that the international category de facto excludes Canadians, kings in their country.

Logic.

Imagine that the best pancake in the world is Canadian ...

With this title, the Rennais expand their record.

They had already won this title in 2016, which gave them great credibility in Quebec.

In 2019, La maison de la Poutine, in Paris, won the honorary title, awarded after an online vote.

“La Poutine is an institution, it is THE gastronomic festival of poutine.

The event has gained unparalleled enthusiasm for several years in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, then worldwide since 2016 with the International category, ”explains Nicolas Gaudin in a press release.

The latter hopes "to introduce poutine to all of France".

The famous Sherbrooke poutine recipe allowed two Rennais to win the title of best poutine in the world.

The famous Sherbrooke recipe imagined by the two brothers is composed of breaded chicken fillets, chorizo, simmered button mushrooms, their brown sauce and typical Quebec cheese curds.

The Rennais have also created their own cheese factory in order to best stick to tradition.

“Before, we bought our supplies from a local cheese maker.

The taste was there, the texture was quite similar but the skouik-skouik was missing, the noise that the cheese makes when chewed like in Quebec, ”Nicolas Gaudin explained to 20 Minutes.

A second brand had opened in Seine et Marne in early 2020 and other franchises could follow.
