Waldbröl (dpa / lnw) - According to the police, an attentive neighbor in Waldbröl saved a 93-year-old from two dubious "sales representatives" who wanted to sell her a nonexistent illustrated book for 3000 euros.

The neighbor had observed that two strangers came into the apartment of the elderly woman and alerted the police.

The officials met two 26 and 31-year-old men in the apartment who, according to a statement on Thursday, presented themselves as “traveling sales representatives”.

They had just offered the 93-year-old the purchase of the illustrated book for 3000 euros - but they didn't have it with them.

"In any case, the 93-year-old was very happy about the help of her neighbor and the appearance of the police, because she felt pressured by the strange men," said the police.

According to a spokeswoman, the men are now being investigated.
