Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The hairdressing salons in Saxony-Anhalt will remain closed as planned until the end of February - the higher administrative court in Magdeburg decided.

The court said on Thursday that it rejected the application by the operator of a hairdressing salon to suspend the relevant part of the containment ordinance.

The reason given was that the ordered closure of the hairdressing salons was a necessary protective measure in the corona pandemic.

In order to avoid an acute national health emergency, it is necessary to significantly reduce the number of contacts in the population for a limited period and thus to stop the infection process.

To achieve this goal, the closure of hairdressing salons is a suitable, necessary and appropriate means, the court said.

It should also be taken into account that the consequences for the entrepreneurs would be mitigated with relief measures and the opening of the hairdressing businesses was expected on March 1st.
