Hamburg (dpa / lno) - After a success forecast for the first quarter, Hapag-Lloyd boss Rolf Habben Jansen wants to give an overview of the situation in the industry and the Hamburg shipping company on Thursday (6 p.m.).
Most recently, Hapag-Lloyd had forecast a significant increase in profits due to the extraordinarily high demand for container transports.
Management expects earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of at least 1.25 billion euros for the first quarter.
In the same period of the previous year the value was significantly lower at 160 million euros.
According to preliminary figures, the Corona year 2020 also went extremely well for the shipping company.
Earnings before interest and taxes rose by around 60 percent to around 1.3 billion euros.
