Microsoft founder Bill Gates said it may be necessary to get three vaccines to prevent the outbreak of the COVID-19 mutant virus.

In an interview with CBS, Gates said, "The debate now is whether we just need to increase the penetration rate of the current vaccine, whether we need a third dose of the existing vaccine, or whether we need to get a'modified' vaccine (to make it effective for the mutation). "I said.

Except for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only needs to be given once, all vaccines currently available such as Pfizer, Modena, AstraZeneca, etc., have been applied twice.

In the face of the mutant virus threat, vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer and Modena have already begun developing booster shots to enhance the preventive effect of modifying existing vaccines.

In an interview, Gates said, “All five companies that have US vaccines are looking at ways to add modifications (to the existing vaccine) so that people who have already been vaccinated twice may have to get a third dose. "

He also predicted that there is a good chance that the vaccine would be'modified' so that the mutant virus that hit the United States would not circumvent the vaccine's protection net.

Gates is supporting research in South Africa to determine whether AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and NovaVax vaccines are also effective against the highly contagious mutant virus.
