Kerpen (dpa / lnw) - After an alleged deflagration in an industrial company in Kerpen near Cologne, an injured employee was flown to a hospital.
It was probably a so-called dust explosion, said a spokesman for the fire department on Thursday.
Fine particles distributed in the air ignite.
The employee was seriously injured and was taken out by colleagues.
An emergency doctor examined three more, but they were uninjured.
A burgeoning fire was immediately extinguished by the sprinkler system.
Several media had reported about the incident.
