Berlin / Dresden (dpa / sn) - The dynamics of the corona pandemic in Saxony is declining.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin reported the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days at 62.6.

On Tuesday it was 68.4.

Nationwide, the value on Wednesday was 57.0.

Thuringia had the highest value with 111.6, the lowest Baden-Württemberg with 43.6.

The federal and state governments had agreed to consider further easing from a seven-day incidence of less than 35.

In Saxony, only two districts had an incidence value of over 100 on Wednesday: the Vogtlandkreis (123.9) and the Leipzig (123.6) district.

The district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains had slipped below this mark with 86.3.

The RKI stated the number of infections in Saxony since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020 at 188,254.

The number of people who died with or from Covid 19 disease in the Free State was put at 7246.

There is sometimes a difference between the figures from the RKI and the state due to different reporting times of the authorities.
