The publisher of the survival shooter Fortnite accuses Apple of forcing application developers to exclusively use its own App Store distribution platform.

The fact that the App Store is the only authorized sales channel on iPhone and iPad, allows Apple to impose its own payment systems, at the cost of commissions of up to 30% on purchases made.

Although the amount has been lowered to 15% for applications with a turnover of less than one million dollars,

Epic Games

considers that these commissions remain excessive for consumers, due to a lack of competition.

In response to these attacks, Apple defends its closed ecosystem which, according to the firm has the apple, allows it to guarantee the protection of the data of its users.

Epic Games has therefore just filed a complaint with the European Commission for abuse of a dominant position in the distribution and payment systems of mobile applications.

Epic Games asks Brussels "

to remedy Apple's anti-competitive behavior by imposing rapid and effective corrective measures

 ".

According to its CEO, Tim Sweeney, "

the future of mobile platforms is at stake
