Federation Council approved law on penalties for sanctions against Russian media

Earlier, the State Duma approved the corresponding amendment to the legislation. 

The amount of fines will vary from 50 thousand to 3 million rubles.

In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on retaliatory sanctions for censoring Russian media on foreign Internet platforms.
