Annaberg-Buchholz (dpa / sn) - The entry restrictions for commuters from the Czech Republic put many automotive suppliers in the border region under massive pressure.

Some companies in the Ore Mountains are currently missing 30 percent of their workforce and more, said Dirk Vogel from the AMZ industry association of the German press agency on Wednesday.

This has a significant impact on production capacities.

Delays in delivery threatened companies with immense penalties.

Jan Kammerl from the Erzgebirgskreis Economic Development Department also reported that companies had to cut their shifts because employees were no longer allowed to travel from the Czech Republic.

The problem also affects other industries, stressed Kammerl.
