Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The police union (GdP) is calling for the Covid-19 disease to be recognized as an accident at work.
So far, police officers have had to prove that they were infected with the virus while on duty and not in private, said the NRW state association of the union on Tuesday in Düsseldorf.
Because this proof is seldom to be provided, the union demands a reversal of the burden of proof: the employer must then prove that the virus infection is not due to an official connection.
The basis of the decision should be the criteria that also apply to statutory accident insurance.
In addition, the GdP demands that the pandemic concept agreed for the police be consistently implemented.
Many authorities still have some catching up to do.
