Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Füchse Berlin remain unbeaten in the European League.

On Tuesday evening, the Bundesliga handball team in the Max-Schmeling-Halle did not get past a 34:34 (16:17) remis in the group B top game against the French representative USAM Nimes Gard.

Nevertheless, the Berlin leaders remain.

The hosts' best thrower was Lasse Andersson with nine goals.

Coach Jaron Siewert initially spared some energy as the Berlin team had to play five games in just eleven days with the Erlangen game last Saturday.

The game against Nimes is followed by two top games in the handball Bundesliga.

For a short time, the home game against SG Flensburg-Handewitt (7 p.m.), which was canceled in mid-November due to corona cases at the Füchsen, was scheduled for Thursday.

And on Sunday the Berliners receive the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen (1.30 p.m. / both Sky).

The Foxes got into the game so well and quickly led 3-1.

But as the game played, the hosts' mistakes increased and the French punished this with simple goals with quick counterattacks.

An 8: 5 lead in the middle of the first half was lost again.

Especially in the cover center the foxes had problems with the athleticism of the guest attackers.

After the break, Siewert brought in defense chief Jakov Gojun and the actual number one in goal, Dejan Milosavjev.

Now things went better defensively and the Füchse took the lead back.

But they could never get more than two goals away and so it remained tight until the end.

With 17 seconds to go, Andersson gave the Füchse the lead with 34:33, but the guests equalized with the final siren.
