Last week, the government revived the proposal to introduce changes that would make it easier for those applying for a permanent residence permit with the support of the Upper Secondary School Act.

The reasons are the deteriorating prospects of being able to find a job due to the corona pandemic.

Among other things, you should have a whole year to find a job instead of, as today, six months.

The government will now send the proposal for consultation, but the prospects that the changes will go through in the Riksdag are small.

This is not the first time that the Upper Secondary School Act has been the subject of debate.

The law has been debated and questioned since the first version came out in 2017.

In the clip, you get both the background and the current situation for the upper secondary school law.
