Bremen (dpa) - Jan Böhmermann has recommended his old home Bremen to the growing influencer scene as a top destination and a good alternative to Dubai - there are now thousands of interested parties.

In cooperation with the “head of the ruling house of Bremen”, Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD), there is also the chance of a state-recognized influencer license in the Hanseatic city, the satirist and journalist advertised on Friday in his program “ZDF Magazin Royale” .

Böhmermann grew up in Bremen.

The offer is accepted: by Monday afternoon, more than 8,000 applications had been received, as announced by ZDF.

"The licenses are awarded to the 50 applicants who represent Bremen most convincingly," said a ZDF spokesman.

Influencers are on the move in social networks and, based on the highest possible number of followers, are in demand as carriers for advertising and marketing.

In his program, Böhmermann took a very critical look at the Internet influencer scene in Dubai.

The influencers would need a state license to be able to live and “influence” there at all.

For this one must, among other things, undertake not to report critically about the government.

Many people also move to Dubai for tax reasons.

The Hanseatic city is now being advertised on the “feelbremen” website.

«Bremen - the Dubai of the north!

The exclusive shopping and lifestyle destination of Bremen, Germany's smallest emirate, is a multicultural city-state - located directly on the sea, surrounded by a hostile but magical desert landscape (Lower Saxony) ”, it says there.

Anyone who becomes an influencer in Bremen will not only receive a free day ticket for the Bremer Straßenbahn AG and a “fresh roast sausage”, but also one of 50 limited, state-recognized influencer licenses.
