Intelligence services in Seoul revealed that North Korean cyber hackers attempted to penetrate the information systems of the Pfizer drug group (PFIZER) in search of information about the vaccine and treatments against the Corona virus.

And according to what was reported by the media today, Tuesday, Rep. Ha Tae Kong told reporters that the National Intelligence Service "has informed us that North Korea has tried to obtain technology related to the vaccine and treatments against the Corona virus with a cyber attack to penetrate Pfizer."

North Korea isolated itself with closing its borders in January of last year, in an effort to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, which first appeared in neighboring China before it swept the world, killing more than two million people.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un confirms that there is no infection in the country with the virus, noting that foreign experts are skeptical of these assertions.

The border closure added to the pressure on the economy as a result of international sanctions imposed on Pyongyang over its banned weapons programs, making the issue of finding a way to curb the virus more urgent.

North Korea operates an army of thousands of pirates, who have attacked companies, institutions and researchers in South Korea and other countries.

The Pfizer vaccine for Corona, which was jointly developed with Germany's BIONTECH, began to be licensed by some countries late last year.

The vaccine is based on "messenger RNA" technology that allows it to enter human cells and transfer them to vaccine production factories.

Pfizer says it expects to deliver up to 2 billion doses of the vaccine in 2021.

The American company "Microsoft" had previously said that hackers tried to break into the networks of 7 pharmaceutical companies and centers specialized in vaccine research across the world.

She added that the pirates are working for the governments of Russia and North Korea, and that the targeted companies are located in South Korea, Canada, France, India and the United States of America.
