In Ukraine, the collection of signatures has begun among the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada for the announcement of impeachment to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Ilya Kiva, the People's Deputy from the Opposition Platform - For Life party, announced this on his Facebook.

“Historic moment!

The collection of signatures of people's deputies for the impeachment of President Zelensky has begun, ”he said.

There is also a photo attached to the post showing a list with nine signatures.

According to political scientist and economist Alexander Dudchak, not only the real opposition, represented by the Opposition Platform - For Life, is interested in removing Zelensky from power, but also other political forces, in particular, the European Solidarity of Petro Poroshenko.

“They would not mind trying their luck for Zelensky to be removed, but they will not help the Opposition Platform - For Life, as it would be a good advertisement for the Opposition Life.

It is unlikely that other political forces will help in this, "said the interlocutor of RT.

According to him, Ukraine has approved a "rather complicated procedure" for declaring impeachment.

According to the law on the impeachment procedure adopted in September 2019, it can be initiated by the parliamentary majority of the Rada.

At the same time, a special commission will be created, which will include a special prosecutor, investigators and deputies.

They will prepare an opinion on the circumstances of the crimes the president is suspected of committing.

After that, the conclusions should be considered by the Constitutional and Supreme Courts for the correctness of the investigation and the content of signs of crime.

If these authorities approve these provisions, then the parliament gets the right to vote for the removal of the president - votes of at least three quarters of the deputies from the constitutional composition of the Rada are required.

"The level of dissatisfaction with Zelensky's policies has grown"

An RT source in the Batkivshchyna party says disappointment with Zelensky's policies is increasing.

“Ukrainians see that the standard of living is falling, the level of corruption is growing.

Many residents of the country do not like the fact that they began to close down TV channels that were not afraid to criticize the activities of the head of state and the president.

Therefore, it is logical to start collecting signatures for impeachment, ”said the MP.

The representative of the Golos party, in turn, notes that the policy of Vladimir Zelensky is increasingly reminiscent of the decisions of his predecessor, Petro Poroshenko.

“Zelensky has apparently forgotten that Ukrainians criticized Poroshenko and were unhappy with the political and economic situation in the country.

But the finale of Zelensky's work may indeed end in impeachment, since all this population and some of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada are not ready to endure, ”says an RT source.

Meanwhile, the party "European Solidarity" indicates that the removal of the head of state from power is unlikely.

“Although the procedure for declaring no confidence in the president is spelled out, it is rather complicated.

The Verkhovna Rada must vote three times for no confidence in the president, and the final time - the decision must be made by at least 338 deputies.

This decision must be upheld by the Constitutional and Supreme Courts.

But the deputies remind Zelensky that he can be held accountable for his actions and should not forget about it, "the interlocutor of RT explained.

Media blocking and announcement of HLE

Recall that on February 3, three large Ukrainian TV channels - "112 Ukraine", ZIK and NEWSONE - stopped broadcasting in connection with the decree of the President of Ukraine, which enacted the NSDC decree on sanctions against a number of legal entities and the deputy of the Rada from the OPZZ party Taras Kozak - it was he owns the Novosti media holding, which includes these TV channels.

Commenting on this decision, Volodymyr Zelenskiy pointed out that these media had “talking armies” that allegedly misled the Ukrainian population on issues such as land reform, utility tariffs and the war in Donbass.

According to him, the decision is "legal, logical, justified and fair" and is fully supported by the United States, the European Union and the G7 countries.

In addition, Zelensky's press secretary Yulia Mendel, without providing evidence, said that another reason for the restrictions was that the TV channels were allegedly funded from Russia.

The next day, the "Opposition Platform - For Life" at the party congress condemned the "anti-constitutional and illegal actions" of the President of Ukraine, who blocked the work of TV channels and adopted a resolution on the beginning of the impeachment procedure for Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Zelenskiy took on the role of a court and went beyond his constitutional powers.

This is not the first time that a head of state has violated the law.

His deliberate and systematic actions aimed at violating the rights of Ukrainian citizens, interfering with the work of other branches of government and the media have all the signs of usurpation of power, ”the document says.

As noted by the co-chairman of the party Vadim Rabinovich, the decision of the head of state threatened the "existence of democratic independence of Ukraine."

In his opinion, Zelensky "mocked" the voters and the country.

In turn, the leader of the PLWH Viktor Medvedchuk noted that there were “all the arguments” for the Ukrainian leader to be subjected to this procedure.

“There is all the evidence and arguments, and we will present them regarding his gross violation of the Constitution, laws, the implementation of actions in which there are signs of a number of corpus delicti,” Medvedchuk said in an interview on the YouTube channel RT Russia.

At the same time, he admitted that, according to the current legislation, launching this process is practically an "impossible" task.

“We want to show people and demonstrate why we believe that today Zelensky is not worthy of this position and why the impeachment procedure should be started,” he added.
