Dresden (dpa / sn) - The cause of the fire in a Dresden skyscraper with a dead two-year-old is still unclear.
Specialists are continuing the investigation of the apartment on the fifth floor where the fire broke out, a police spokesman said on Monday when requested.
The floor is still locked.
Last Friday, the fire brigade found a lifeless child and his seriously injured mother in the burning apartment.
The 36-year-old was rescued from the balcony and taken to the hospital.
Any help came too late for the boy, and the two-year-old died on site.
About 20 neighbors were brought to safety.
The flames were extinguished that night, and the fire brigade held a fire watch until Saturday.
The criminal investigation department is investigating the case.
