The alarm about the fire came in at 7.30 pm.

- Those who called in had seen flames and smoke pillars out on the slopes, says Joachim Åberg, rescue chief on standby.

Initially, the rescue service suspected that it was a building that had burned down, but later it turned out that it was not true.

- It is rubbish that burns, some kind of landfill, says Joachim Åberg.

Still burning

The fire is still going on and according to the rescue service, it will take at least an hour before it is extinguished.

- We have two units in place that work, but it is difficult to get there on those roads.

But there is no risk of spreading, says Joachim Åberg.
