▲ Peruvian media reported on high-ranking Peruvian vaccination scandals

In Peru, the scandal of the corona 19 vaccine'cut-off vaccination' among former presidents and ministers is growing.

According to the Peruvian Andina news agency on the 15th local time, Attorney General Soraida Avalos said he has initiated a preliminary investigation into former President Martin Biscara and others involved in unfair vaccination.

President Francisco Sagasti also promised to find and punish those in charge, saying in a local broadcast interview the day before, "People who engage in such a very unjust and inappropriate behavior cannot be in my government."

On the 11th, suspicions of inadequate vaccination, so-called'previous vaccinations' were first raised in Peru.

A daily newspaper revealed that former President Biskara, who was impeached by Congress in November of last year, was vaccinated with China's Sinofam's Corona 19 vaccine with his wife in October of last year, before retirement.

It was four months before Peru approved the use of the sinofam vaccine and started administering it to medical staff on the 9th. At that time, a phase 3 clinical trial of the vaccine was in progress in Peru.

When suspicions arose, former President Biscara explained that he was unable to disclose his participation because of the confidentiality rules of clinical participants, saying, "It was a brave volunteering to become a member of 12,000 clinical trial participants."

However, Peru's Calletano Heredia University, who led the trial, refuted that former President Biscara was not a participant in the trial.

As the controversy grew, Health Minister Pilar Masetti resigned on the 12th, taking responsibility for concealing the former president's vaccinations.

On the 14th, foreign minister Elisabeth Astete stepped down after it was announced that he had been vaccinated earlier last month.

Minister Astete, who led the synopal vaccine purchase contract, admitted through Twitter that he had been vaccinated on the 22nd of last month and said, "I am aware that I have made a terrible mistake. So I decided not to do a second dose."

In addition to these, when suspicion that there were more senior citizens who had been secretly received the vaccine in advance, the cabinet members are struggling to reveal that they did not get the vaccine.

In the case of interim President Sagasti, who is filling the remaining terms of former President Biscara until the April presidential election, he was publicly vaccinated in front of live cameras on the 9th, when vaccination began in Peru.

With a population of 33 million people, Peru's cumulative corona 19 cases were 1.23 million and 43,000 deaths.
