Aurich (dpa / lni) - An attentive driver prevented a major house fire in Aurich.
The man noticed on Sunday evening an "unclear fire glow" on a residential building, as the fire department announced.
He notified the residents and the emergency services.
They discovered that a grill had caught fire near the house and the flames had spread to a window in the apartment building.
The window glass had cracked due to the development of heat.
A passerby used a fire extinguisher to prevent the flames from spreading to the rest of the house.
