At the airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, four flights were delayed for departure: to Yuzhno-Kurilsk, Vladivostok, Moscow and Khabarovsk, and four flights for arrival from the same cities.
A number of bus routes from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk have been canceled.
Due to worsening weather conditions, commuter trains in two directions were canceled: Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Tomari, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Poronaysk.
The Vanino - Kholmsk ferry crossing, which connects Sakhalin with the mainland, is also closed.
Earlier, rescuers warned of avalanche danger in three mountainous areas of Sakhalin.
